Description

The Grapesmith, is Johan Malan from Simonsig’s sideline project, consisting of two blended Rhne-style white wines. Die Kluisenaar, meaning ‘The Hermit’, is a blend of Roussanne and Marsanne, modelled on white Hermitage wines of the Rhne Valley, in France. The wine was fermented naturally in 225 litre French oak barrels and spent 12 months on the primary lees, with occasional battonage, resulting in a wine with beautiful body and texture.
